Suhaildev Wild Life Sanctuary
Suheldev Wildlife Sanctuary is a major tourist destination
of Shravasti district. This sanctuary is spread in Balrampur and Shravasti

442 square kilometers. Suheldev Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1988.

Jetavana Archaeological Zone Shravasti
Jetavana Archaeological Site is a Famous tourist place of
Shravasti. Here one get to see many archaeological places. This place is spread
over a very large area. Jetawan Vihar is located in main Shravasti. It is
located in sahet. It is believed that Lord Buddha spent 24 or 25 years here.
According to the Buddhist texts, this land was purchased for
Lord Buddha by Sudatta Anathapindak, the rich Shresthi of Shravasti, from
Prince Jeta with as many gold coins as could cover the entire garden. That's
why this place was called Shresthi Math, later it was known as Sahet.
Excavation was done here in 1863 and during the excavation
of 1863 remains of many ancient temples, stupas, viharas were found here. Most
of the excavated remains are from the Kushan period, with temples and viharas
dating from the Gupta period to the 11th and 12th centuries. Many changes and
additions were made here.
Bodhi tree is planted here. This Bodhi tree was planted in

Kachhi Kuti

Kachhi Kuti is an important excavated remains located in
Maheth. Maheth is a major and ancient village of Shravasti. This place was
named Kachhi Kuti due to the construction of a temple made of raw bricks on top
of it by a monk. This excavated remains shows the construction of different
periods between 2nd century AD to 12th century. On the basis of many
antiquities and excavation remains obtained from here, it appears that a temple
was built in the Gupta period on this Kushan Stupa.

who was known as Anathapindika. Anathapindika was a rich man in the 6th century
BCE.

gift given to Lord Buddha by which Anathapindika. His is lost all her wealth

Birth place of Jain Tirthankar Lord Sambhavnath
Birthplace of Jain Tirthankar Lord Sambhavnath is a major

then it has got the remains of the temple. Remains of a domed temple can be

This Jain temple is believed to be the birth place of the
third Jain Tirthankar Sambhavnath. Locally it is called Shobhanath Temple. It
is built on an elongated ground plan which has been constructed in several
phases. Over the years it has undergone many changes and additions.
The domed construction of Lakhori bricks on the upper part
of the western part of the temple is late medieval. The interior of the wall
had many aale in which Jain idols were installed. Many Jain idols have been
