Maharaja Kush got angry because of not getting Kankan and He got the idea to fight with Nagkanya. Here his father Mr. Kumud prayed in shivshankr and asked Shiv Shankar for Abhay Daan.

Pleased Shri Bholenath came here and asked Kush ji to make him Abhay Daan. Shri Kush Maharaj became normal on seeing Bholenath.

Kush ji worshiped Shiva by giving abhayadan to Nagraj and told Shiv Shankar that you have come here after being pleased with the snake, so you will be known as Nageshwarnath. This is whole story of Nageshwarnath temple.

This temple is ancient. The festival of Shivratri is celebrated with great pomp in this temple. A procession of Lord Shiva is taken out here. Lakhs of devotees come here during Shivratri. This Gurdwara is dedicated to Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The first Guru of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited this place during his travels in ancient times. Here one can see an ancient Bael tree under which Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had satsang.

Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, during his journey from Haridwar to Jagannath Puri, in the year 1557 at Vikrami, sitting under this ancient Bael tree on the Saryu bank ghat, had a satsang with the head of the Pandit Samaj and gave true sermons.

Here, the ninth Guru of Sikhism, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj, while going from Assam to Anandpur Sahib, in Vikram year 1725, bowed down to this place Manji Sahib and performed unbroken penance for 48 hours and gave the symbol of his lotus feet, Charan Paduka, to a Brahmin servant here, whose darshan can be done in present times.

While going from Patna to Anandpur in 1728 Vikram, the tenth Guru of Sikhism Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mata Gujri Ji, maternal uncle Kripal Chand Ji and Guru Govind Ji stayed at this place and fed the monkeys with gram. This tradition continues even today and even today people feed gram to monkeys here. Here Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji gifted weapons, arrows, daggers, chakras which you can see.
